Poker is played with either a standard deck or a community card deck. The size of the deck depends on the game. For example, in a community card game, each active player receives one card, and all players share the other eight cards. In the case of a standard deck, the jack is considered the first dealer.
There are two major types of poker: draw and stud. A draw game has five cards per player and each player must put a ante into the pot. After the first round of betting, each player can discard up to three cards, and a second round of betting occurs. During the second betting round, each player can draw a replacement card from the remaining undecked portion of the pack.
